Ullapool Book Festival

What's it all about? The fifth time round and gaining traction. A three day literary gathering in a pleasant highland town on the shores of Loch Broom. Nice balanced programme with readings, talks, worksops. Excellent line-up, lovely time of year, great base to explore. In recognition of Homecoming Scotland 2009 all four Friday daytime sessions will be held on Isle Martin, the community owned island in Loch Broom from where emigrant ships left in the early 1800s. The audience will be taken to Isle Martin by the cruise boat Summer Queen in the morning and brought back in time for tea. Nice touch - no oars required.
