Middlesbrough Literary Festival- A Mixture of Allsorts
What? Middlesbrough Literary Festival begins on Saturday 19th June, 2010 with an opening event filled with poetry, music, storytelling and activities for all the family to enjoy. The ethos of the festival is to celebrate the word in all its forms: written, spoken, sung and created.
Festival highlights include prize winning novelists Sarah Waters, Richard Milward and Jill Dawson, as well as local poets Bob Beagrie and Andy Willoughby, Titanic expert Tim Maltin and Michelle Monro, daughter of the late, great Matt Monro. There'll be writing workshops with Jacob Polley, Wendy Robertson and Marion Husband amongst others and the return of The History Wardrobe with performances of Jane Eyre and the fabulous fashions of the 1950s.
