What? The 3rd annual Literary Festival begins on 4th June with activities in Central Library, Centre Square and
mima with poetry, stories, music and activities for all the family. For the younger audience, there is a magician, outdoor games and real life story characters, Horrid Henry and Maisie in Central Library and Centre Square.
A varied programme of events including talks from bestselling crime author Val McDermid and the world-renowned horror writer Ramsey Campbell. Music from Keith James as he performs his popular ‘Songs of Nick Drake’, an event which has previously toured the UK to sell out audiences.
The ever popular History Wardrobe return to give an entertaining presentation about Georgian life and Teesside University’s Crime and Forensics experts will join three leading crime authors to give a fascinating insight into their work – crime fact meets crime fiction head on!
Creative writing workshops to help you discover your inner writer or develop your current creative writing skills and a performance poetry workshop with a chance to perform your work on the evening. If you enjoy performing your work, there’ll be opportunities for you to get behind the microphone on 4th June at mima from 6pm.
For younger audiences, best selling authors Simon Scarrow (Centurion and The Gladiator) Martin Cope and author illustrator Liz Million will make an appearance.
