ED: Looks like might have been a one-off in 2011.
THE FIRST STORY YOUNG WRITERS’ FESTIVAL, Friday 23 September, 2011 at Broughton Castle
The Young Writers’ Festival aims to celebrate and promote writing in UK secondary schools and will be a showcase for writing by young people. It will provide a platform for 11- to 18-year-olds to read their stories and poems aloud alongside established authors including Philip Pullman, Michael Morpurgo, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Meg Rosoff and Mark
Haddon. A rolling programme of workshops led by novelists and poets will offer students and teachers new ways into writing. A series of special sessions led by Kate Clanchy, Oxford’s first City Poet, will support, encourage and inspire teachers to put writing at the heart of the school day. The festival will further First Story’s aim to help young people find their voice and know that their voice has value.
