Tasha O’Neill is an East Anglian based, independent author, poet and short story writer. She was born July 1975 in the city of Cambridge to Irish and Polish parents and grew up in Suffolk. Over the years she has lived in various parts of the UK but always ends up being drawn back to her East Anglian roots.
Tasha has a passion for the natural world, folklore, world creation myths and fairy tales, all of which strongly influence much of her work. In her YA book series, The Nymet Chronicles she wanted to explore the importance of trees – especially as record-keepers of human history and memories.
She read English Language and Literature at The University of Central Lancashire, including modules on Children’s Literature and Narrative Analysis. Since then she has worked for some time in the travel industry and currently works in the emergency services.
While Tasha has been writing since childhood, she has only recently begun to publish her work. A regular attendee of The London Book Fair, it is there that she first discovered self-publishing as a viable route to publication. In her first year as a published writer (2015) Tasha has regularly given talks at a variety of events including local fairs, bookshop signings, school visits and literary festivals. She is currently finishing her second novel, Charlotte Stone and the Albion Gate.
Tasha is an associate member of the Society of Authors.
