First Fictions is a bi-annual boutique literary festival designed to celebrate and champion new writing and innovation in fiction.
Organised by Myriad Editions and the University of Sussex, the festival offers an inspiring programme of literary discussion in the company of some of today’s most creative authors, agents, academics and publishers.
In 2014 the packed weekend of events will include round table discussions on: The Future of the Novel, Contemporary Historical Fiction, New Forms, Graphic Storytelling and New Ways of Reading, The Short Story and Crime Writing. Sussex's Professor Nicholas Royle will unveil a special 'Uncanny' edition of Quick Fictions in a late-night salon by the fireside.
When? Friday 11 April to Sunday 13 April 2014
Where? The 2014 festival will take place at West Dean College, the stately home of the late poet, Edward James, a 6,000-acre estate nestled in the South Downs, near Chichester.
