
The Cork International Short Story Festival brings together internationally renowned writers, poets and literature enthusiasts for a series of readings, workshops, and seminars. Hosted by the Munster Literature Centre the festival is one of the oldest in the world devoted to the short story.
The festival ranges across several venues including the Cork City Library, Triskel Arts Centre, and the Gael Taca language school.

Past Festivals?Previous writers and poets to have attended and taken part in public interviews at the festival include Louis de Bernieres, Colm Toibin, Edna O’Brien and Richard Ford. The festival also sees the awarding of two major literary awards. The Seán Ó'Faoláin Short Story Competition is open to writers from across the world, whilst the Frank O’Connor International Award is handed out to the writer of the finest collection of stories.
