Sevenoaks Literary Celebration, now a decade old, is a small book festival which aims to bring together readers and authors of books of real literary quality. It attracts substantial audiences from West Kent and beyond.
Run by a committee of volunteers, it keeps its ticket prices affordable with most events costing £9.
The programme consists of around a dozen events including a literary lunch and a booklovers' tea. It also organises author visits to local primary and secondary schools with the support of Sevenoaks Town Council. Sevenoaks Bookshop is closely involved in the festival, organising book sales and signing sessions for visiting authors
When? September to early October. The festival is held over a two week period in the autumn. Most events are held in the evening,
Where? Sevenoaks is an attractive small town in West Kent, easily reached by train from London and close to the M25. Venues used by the festival range from 60-300 seats.
