The Morley Literature Festival has now morphed in to the Morely Arts Festival. The literary stream pulls in the larger names in literature whilst keeping a local feel with authors from the area.
Literary lunches, creative writing workshops and a local history programme for schools make the festival an important event in the North’s festival lists.
When? September 23rd -October 9th, 2016
Where? Morley is just south of the city of Leeds in West Yorkshire. A market town with a strong local identity, Morley has been a settlement for over a thousand years and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. It became a borough in 1886 and a district of Leeds in 1974.
