Controversially, on the one hand, Yasmin Alibhai-Brown gives a polemic against wearing the veil and the exotic elements of English culture and on the other Peter Lloyd of the Mail locks horns with Zoe Williams of the Guardian on the topic of men’s rights.
A C Grayling returns to speak on the ‘Challenge of things’ and Dr David Lewis to speak on the global epidemic of obesity. Ex-international rugby player Richard Parks speaks about the expedition challenges he undertook that were filmed for a TV series this year and Jason Lewis recounts his record as the first person to circumnavigate the world using human power only. There are further talks on the painter JM Turner, Africa, terrorism, drone warfare and Chloe Combi’s thoughts on ‘Generation Z’.
