The first Hoo’s Kids Book Fest took place in May 2012 and was opened by favourite illustrator and author James Mayhew. After a truly splendid day, James said “I believe this will become one of the truly important children’s book festivals in the UK”.
Well, the event has jumped the first couple of hurdles and has hung up it's shingle for a third year in 2014, and hurrah for that. With a tribe of children ourselves we love festivals dedicated to children's literature here at Literary Festivals UK. Live long and prosper.
