Produced by Chester Performs, the Essar Chester Literature Festival is fortnight long festival which takes place every October and welcomes some of the country’s most loved authors and literary personalities to the City.

2014 Highlights - The festival kicks off with punk-rock legend John Lydon. The former lead si
nger of the Sex Pistols will be talking about his new autobiography. Meanwhile, Princess Diana's brother Charles Spencer will join the line up on Sunday 12th to discuss his new book Killers of the King, about the fates of the men who signed Charles I's death warrant.
The 'world's greatest living explorer' Sir Ranulph Fiennes will discuss his new book about the Battle of Agincourt on Monday 13th and politician Paddy Ashdown talks about The Cruel Victory his new book about the French Resistance on Tuesday 14th.
Also booked are comic Francesca Martinez and the Guardian columnist Tim Dowling, stand up comedian Mark Thomas, cricket legend Geoffery Boycott and Sheila Hancock.
