No signs of life in 2015 OR 2016 Jim- ed

"After much thought, we have decided that Bookmarks Festival will take a year off in 2014. After two years of putting on extremely succesful events, the committee has decided that taking a year off will allow us to recharge, regroup and come back in 2015 bigger and better than ever.

But before you feel too disapointed, we can also announce that, in lieu of a full blown festival, we will be holding a literary evening event in Helmdon during the summer. We can't confirm details quite yet, but expect it to be the usual mixture of books, wine, good company and perhaps a 'special guest' or two. Look out for more details of the event in the coming weeks on the website or through the usual social media channels (links below).

2013

Entering its second year, this free festival will once again be celebrating great literature, both local and beyond. Readings from esteemed authors, creative writing contests, books for purchase, literary related stalls and attractions, competitions.

Booked for 2013 are local authors Adrian Magson, Alison McQueen and Garry O'Connor ( below).

In a nice twist the event will be raising money on behalf of Hand In Hand For Syria, a UK charity who provide expert humanitarian and medical care for those affected by the Syrian crisis.

When? Sunday August 25th, 2013. The doors will open at 12 noon. Specific time for the author readings will be announced soon.
