Surrey Heath Literary Festival
19-May-2011A brand new literary festival inspired by local Cllr Tim Dodds. Nice one Tim.
The 2011 theme is "Let your mind be transported".
No heavy major headliners as we would expect for this
inaugural event at a crowded time of year for literary festivals. Still, the authors booked are certainly an interesting bunch and worth getting along to see . The Saturday May 21st line-up look particularly intriguing.
Jeremy Poolman’s will talk about his latest book – The Road of Bones – an adventure travelogue into the heart of Russia. In the Guardian’s My Travels series, Jeremy tells of his experiences travelling through Russia.
War correspondent, Paul Moorcroft (Inside the Danger Zones) will talk about his craft, and popular TV magician (also the voice of the toaster in Red Dwarf!), John Lenahan will talk about his fantasy adventure for young adults, Shadowmagic.
The whole affair looks beautifully presented and Literary Festivals UK wishes them every success in the years ahead.
